Attending a seminar run by Shine Cancer Support

At the end of October, Cris, Julie and Lyn attended a Shine seminar 'Understanding the needs of young adults with cancer', hosted by Maggie’s at Barts.

The Shine team talked about the difficulties young adults come up against whilst they are living with a cancer diagnosis. These difficulties include:

• Living with uncertainty – anxiety and depression

• Working after cancer

• Fertility

• Relationships and dating

• Caring for young children

• Finances

It was a very informative seminar and beneficial to us all. All our volunteers have now been informed of the great work that Shine do, and we will certainly be signposting this worthy charity to our younger clients.
